Meet the Team
Dr. David Collins
Since first beginning his career, Dr. Collins has incorporated the latest technology into his patient care. Through ongoing professional development and peer groups, he keeps his finger on the pulse of new and evolving treatment options, such as dental implants. Skilled in advanced cosmetic procedures, he has the expertise to treat a broad range of problems that other dentists might refer to outside practitioners. Ultimately, his goal is to provide the highest quality care in a comfortable and caring environment.
Dr. David Collins, D.D.S., received his dental degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After an intensive general practice residency at St. Joseph's hospital in Denver, he joined an established Lakewood practice, which he took over in 1997. He grew the practice into the high-tech and professional Belmar Park Dental Care that patients know today. Dr. Collins and his wife, Lynette, have three children, and together they enjoy Colorado's many outdoor sports.
Lisa’s dental career began in 1981. She started out in an office where she assisted and front office duties. Overtime she spent less time assisting and more time doing administrative work. With the exception of 3 years, when she worked in the medical field, she has been in dentistry around 30 years. She feels blessed to work with wonderful doctors who she continually learns from. She loves her current position, which gives her the opportunity to build amazing friendships and beautiful smiles.
Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, sports, reading and theatre. She enjoys spending long weekends with her husband, Rick, of 30 years and their two Belgium Malinios.
Insurance & Billing Coordinator
Rachel completed Dental Assisting school in 2009 and started working for Dr. Collins as a sterile technician and transitioned to Dental Assistant. In November of 2010 she became a Front Office Team Member.
Rachel enjoys reading, hiking, walking her dogs and working on her golf game. She also spends time with her family doing water activities, lounging by a pool, swimming and snorkeling.
After spending the past 8 years in Iowa and 3 years there with an orthodontic practice as their front office manager, my husband and I decided to venture out west and experience new opportunities in beautiful Colorado. What I love most about working with patients and their families, is the ability to build strong relationships and create an environment that feels like home for everyone that walks into our office! Aside from my time at Belmar Park Dental Care, I enjoy hiking, biking, running, the outdoors, photography and art. I’m married to my wonderful husband Jared and together we have a very spoiled gold retriever, Duke.
Patty is originally from northern Ohio and has over 16 years dental front office experience. She likes building relationships and connecting with the patients to make their dental visits welcoming.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, walking and live theatre.
Expanded Duties Dental Assistant
I have been a dental assistant since August 2012, when I finished my dental assistant training. Prior to choosing a professional field, I earned my associates degree in science. The combination of art, science and personal care is what drew me into dentistry – a choice I am appreciative for every day!
After two years of working (and continuous learning) in the Cherry Creek area, I moved to the west side of town. Lucky enough, I was able to find a new home with a great team at Belmar Park Dental Care.
Growing up as an avid athlete, I still find my happiness playing on a softball field – while weather permits. I also enjoy hiking and snowboarding with my boyfriend, Chuck, and my Dalmatian-mix, Pete.
Expanded Duties Dental Assistant
I began my Dental Assisting career in 1998. For 13 years I assisted in a general dentistry practice in Tulsa, Oklahoma before deciding to start a new chapter in Colorado. Living in Colorado had been a dream of mine for a few years and when I was given the opportunity to take my love of dental assisting to the Denver area, I knew it would be a perfect fit. For the past 2 years I’ve called Belmar Park Dental Care my work home. What I love most about Belmar Park Dental Care is providing exceptional dental care for our wonderful patients and working alongside the outstanding staff in our office.
In my free time I enjoy my newfound hobby of hiking, spending time in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, watching sports, traveling to Oregon to see my nieces and nephews, and spending time with my friends and family.
Certified Dental Assistant
Karen is a Certified Dental Assistant. She started out in Pediatrics and Orthodontics in Massachusetts. In October of 2005 she moved to Colorado and started working for Belmar Park Dental doing general dentistry. She loves working for Dr. Collins.
Karen enjoys camping, photography, cooking and her 3 dogs.
Registered Dental Hygienist
I started in dentistry in 1998 as a sterile tech and quickly moved up to assisting and then on to doing expanded duties assisting. After doing volunteer work abroad in 2004 and 2005, I decided to take the next step in my career and apply for dental hygiene school. I attended Community College of Denver’s Dental Hygiene program from 2007 to 2009, and graduated with honors. Before I graduated I told my husband, Patrick, I wanted to work for a funny dentist who does excellent work, treats his patients and team with respect, and is close to our home so I could ride my bike to work when the weather is nice. Someone must have been listening to my plan, because I quickly landed here at Belmar Park Dental Care. I found all of those features in this office and more. I love my job and the people I work with, and plan to stay here until I retire!
My special training includes being part of Fortune Management’s Dental Hygiene Mastery program which gives the team and I specialized training in bringing our patients the most up-to-date dentistry. This program has also taught us how to take the very best care of our patients. I feel very privileged to be a part of this program! I have also received my standard proficiency certification from the Academy of Laser Dentistry and now I am taking steps to earn my advanced laser certification, so I can help continue the same path of bringing my patients excellent care.
It seems that all I do in my spare time is chase my 3 year old around and sleep these days! We actually do a lot of other activities like camp, hike and we visit parks frequently along with lots of swimming. Now that my son is a little older and more stable on his feet, I am excited to take up skiing again this winter, as well as go mountain biking this coming summer!
